Amid the sacred 70s geometry and technicolor gender euphoria of Shibuya and Shinjuku, I co-directed a music video with my best friend Azsa West for The Zipper, from Oslo-based band The Ruby Suns' Sprite Fountain.
With a budget for ants, we spun a tale of love, self-affirmation, virtual magic and the treachery and ecstasy of the physical world. Where we boarded for a wiener dog leather daddy, we got a poodle in a harness. And where we dreamed of spelunking in dresses through the ocean, we got goldfish shitting in a Love Hotel bathtub.
